log 128: connection

This past weekend I visited a nature exhibition in Montreal with my girlfriend for her birthday. It was incredible. Not only did I learn a saddening and hopeful truth, but I had a glimpse of what “thinking” and “growth” actually look like. In the second of three rooms, there was a huge visual representation of the similarity between all species on each wall. It was incredibly colorful and a very dreamlike animation. At one point there were nodes filling up the walls in all sorts of colors and a bond forming between them. My first reaction was a thought. A thought bouncing around a brain to create a link. It was like seeing a visual representation of thinking itself. It gave me goosebumps because it's what I want to create with my app. Using functions to create links and bonding data to create thoughts. From there how far can it go? Does it borderline the creation of artificial intelligence? I’m not even sure what that means anymore with the huge surge nowadays, but my interest has definitely peaked.
