log 13: london
slacking
Working while traveling is tough. I really thought that I would be able to keep up with coding while traveling in Europe, but so far it has been a massive challenge. I have been able to do some work here and there, however, I am falling behind my personal schedule. It honestly feels more like a productivity trap in my head than a tangible schedule. After a certain point, I figured it would be better to just enjoy myself while on vacation rather than stress too much about work. Even though I haven’t done a lot of physical work, I can’t stop thinking about what the next steps I am going to take are. So, what I decided to do was carefully plan out what I am going to work on during my train rides from city to city. This should give me a good outline of what work needs to be done and hopefully cure some of my vacation syndrome while waiting for my next destination.
On the bright side. I haven’t been able to sit still for one moment of this trip so far. There are so many things to see. Whether it’s Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, or even a random park in the middle of two small buildings, I love seeing new things. I was lucky enough to travel to London when I was younger with my family but I was never able to really appreciate the grandeur of the monuments. Such intricate little details and the consistency of the carvings throughout each of the sites are truly amazing. Seeing these sites again reinforces my drive to become a builder. I’ll never be able to build something of that scale, especially with my hands, but I’d love to put something on this earth that will stay. For now, I’m going to continue to focus my efforts on building a product that I truly believe will help improve human lives. But who knows, maybe one day I will complete my dream of physically building something that I am proud of.
