log 204: taiwan
family
I’ve finally made it back to Taiwan. It’s my first time travelling here by myself, which is oddly surprising. I’ve been all around the world but I’ve never made it to the country my family is from alone. I was so exhausted from my exam week that the 15 hour flight went by a little too quickly. I was looking for the buffer time to catch up on some video games because there was no internet. After I landed I was able to go surprise my grandparents early in the morning. They were so happy to see me and I was so happy to see them. I can’t believe that it has already been a year since I’ve been back and I’m glad that they're still in good shape. However, this time around I’m trying to pay more attention to how we're taking care of him. It’s not only the first time I visit alone, but it’s the first time where I actually have some idea of what is best for his healthcare. Somehow, this time I feel like I can be a better grandson and take more steps to ensure that he is safe and he's getting better. It’s been very hard to do so after my entire family moved to the US because we rarely get to visit anymore. I know that my family is extremely international but during these small periods when I get to visit, I want to take care of them. It’s important to explore the world and learn a lot of things, but at the end of the day. Family is the most important.
