log 64: moving
normal
I thought it would be difficult to move to a foreign country, but it wasn’t. After moving around and exploring so many different places, it was easy to move to Paris. The most difficult part was leaving my dog in Boston, but she is in good hands so I don’t need to worry. Culinary school is an absolute blast. I am learning so many different things about the organization, cooking, and tasting of food. Even though I feel very confident at the basic level there are so many things to learn. From the first two weeks, the most important lesson is organization. Having all my tools out, knowing the procedure, knowing what cuts, and timing all lead to a productive flow in the kitchen. The demeanor of the class is very different than my kitchen. Normally I am listening to music and a little more carefree. In the class, everyone is very focused and trying to impress the chef. It is not a bad feeling, being in a room of chefs makes me want to improve my skills and be at the top of the class.
Testing and keeping up with coding has been difficult. I want to push updates and work on the feedback given to me by my testers, but it’s been difficult to find the time. I’m working on it every other day almost trying to keep the progress up but slowly I have been slipping into the Parisian lifestyle. Three months is a short time, as long as I get a little progress here and there I want to focus more on Paris than my app. When I get back to the USA I’ll have a lot of work to do.
