log 206: clinic

rotation

My first three days in the clinic have been such an eye opener. Since CSM in Houston, I’ve been a little skeptical on what I’m being taught in school. I know that didactic coursework is meant to help us pass the board certification, but I didn’t know that it was to such an extreme extent. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve learned so much from USC and my professors in class. But the clinic is in a completely different direction. I’ve learned so many practical ways to do the things we have been doing in class in a much easier manner. It’s almost incomprehensible how much simpler things are in the clinic most of the time. From just these past few days my biggest lesson so far is to take everything with a grain of salt. Both coursework and real life experiences have their pros and cons. It’s up to me to decide what to do with all the little pieces of information and put them together for a complete story.
