log 25: start

fresh

This week I am finally able to start the grind. After two weeks on the road, then another week attending graduation with a ton of family, I’m ready to get started. My mom and I arrived back in San Diego where I’ll be living for the next four months until I move to France, which I still have to plan for… Walking back into this house after so many years is like walking straight into a memory chamber in my brain. I’m excited to transform the office into a productive workspace where I can get a lot of things done during the day. There really isn’t much for me to write about because the progress has been limited. However, my company has officially been filed in the state of Delaware and I am now a CEO of a Limited Liability company. I met with an accountant earlier last week and discovered that taxes filed for the company are actually personal because I own the entire thing. Very interesting! It is very cool and humbling to be a startup where I only have to worry about myself and my current MVP. I haven’t reached the point where I need to hire any employees but I imagine at the end of the year I probably will have to start searching. I was also able to visit a video game company campus during my time in LA. Their operation is so much bigger than mine but in the grand scheme of companies and corporations around the world, they are tiny. I don’t know if people understand the amount of planning and foundationary work that goes into building an empire. I certainly don’t, but I’m excited to learn. Moving forward with this first week of the grind, I have started filming videos for my database and posted them to my new youtube channel. One of my previous goals was to post a daily “vlog” about the work I do here but I think that is too much-added work and stress so I’m going to scratch that idea. Instead, I’m going to post the database videos to my Instagram. It does feel weird to write about my goals, post them online, then a week later write that I’m not going to continue with that goal. But it is a matter of priority to me. My vlogs don’t add any value. It’s also a lot of added stress and filming. So instead I’m going to direct that valuable energy into other aspects of my work.

So these are my finalized goals for the next four months.

  • 2x Food-related/cooking videos, with recipes and ingredients in the caption. Edited with sound and music.

  • Post every database video to Instagram and Youtube. No music or sound, it’s unneeded and it makes it a lot easier.

  • ~4-6 Hours of dedicated work toward the company and app every day. Emails, meetings, coding, planning, etc.

  • 1x a week fun activity outside.

  • Have fun! The process is the best part!
