log 26: growth
plants
This week I found my next challenge, growing flowers. There’s a lot going on in my life now. Starting a company, building a product, blah blah. That’s the work side of my life. On the personal side, there really isn’t much I have going on. The neighborhood I live in right now is extremely quiet and is a complete 180 from living in Fenway, Boston. I also don’t have any video games to play to soak up the downtime. I know I could work and work until my brain gets fried but I don’t want to spend my entire day working. So this week I found my next challenge, and it’s a really tough one. I want to grow flowers! The family house that I’m staying in right now has a small gardening area that gets a good amount of sunlight during the day and I want it to be my next project. I’ve always wanted to be able to grow fruits and vegetables but because I’m going to be moving to France in a couple of months it doesn’t really seem like a good idea. So instead, I’m going to try and plant some nice bushes and flowers to add a little bit of color to the place. So far, it’s been a bit confusing. I can’t tell if the soil is good soil, clay, or just dense. So my current plan is to use gardening soil and amending soil (I don’t really know the difference) and mix it in with the native soil I have here. Hopefully, it puts some nutrients into the ground so I can begin planting in a couple of days. My mom and I figured the worst I can do is remove all the weeds so there really isn’t too much harm I can do. I’m really looking forward to this little side project because it's just another thing to learn. It will also serve as a big stepping stone into growing fruits and vegetables in the future!
