log 34: iterative

failure

Have you ever wondered what is the best way for you to learn? To touch upon my previous log, I wrote about a huge learning win in my coding career. How did I get there? A week like this one, where I spent hours trying to make something work. But in the end, nothing. Nothing, except a bunch of ways not to do it. Just like Einstein once said, “ The light bulb was an invention with 1000 steps.” I know, a classic. But that made me realize how much I enjoy coding and why I think have been able to learn it. It’s because I can fail iteratively with no consequences. Being able to check my work by running the program has taught me so much about what works, from what doesn’t. So far it has been a genuinely fun journey picking up a new skill. It definitely helps that I have a strong interest in coding, but it’s taught me a lot about learning new things. It just takes a lot of reps.
