log 52: Social Media
slump
Social media continues to be one of the hardest tasks I have. Earlier in the year, I transitioned into more food-based content to consistently have new things to post. I also implemented regular posting of exercise demonstrations, just for consistency. However, I’m tired. Making videos every other day and cooking big recipes is very tiring. I’m glad I have the chance to make many different dishes but, it’s is so much effort. Currently, I’m in a little bit of a slump. My schedule is off because I was hosting friends for the weekend and I forgot to record my cooking. I made an amazing barbeque spread consisting of Thai chicken wings, Korean galbi short ribs, and Filipino BBQ pork. I recorded the marinating process but totally forgot to film at the end. Because of that, I don’t have any content to post. While I know I’m not in a rush to become the next big hit of anything, it sucks when the consistency starts going down. Looking purely at the numbers is a tough mental game. But it does make me think about what I need to do to fix my schedule. Did the lack of consistency come from laziness? Studying for the CSCS? Hosting friends and forgetting? A mixture of all of these? I’ve got about a week and a half until September when I want to have a personal test for my app. But with all these other things going on, I’m not sure I’ll even make it. A lot of work coming up soon, and I’m going to need to focus hard to get things done.
