log 51: CSCS

pain

What an incredibly difficult test. This past week I passed my CSCS exam, which was a huge milestone for me. It goes to show how much I have learned during my short time in the field so far. Currently, the NASM CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) is one of the most prestigious certifications in the strength field. It feels great to have passed on my first try after studying for so many months. Reflecting upon what I have learned and figuring out how to use that information in my own app is the real reason why I decided to get this certification. Thinking about how energy systems, periodization, specificity, etc, could influence my program algorithm is incredible. There are so many ways that I can use my new knowledge to better improve my product. While the information I learned is important, so is the certification. Just knowing the information can only get me so far. Gaining the certification proves to my future potential clients that I know what I am talking about, and that is incredibly important. This is why my next goal for professional development is to finish my physical therapy school applications.
