log 84: gaming

exp

In 2023 I barely played any video games, which I am both proud and sad about. There were times when I did indulge, but compared to when I was a kid it was nothing. These past two weeks I was able to play quite a good amount of games because of a mixture of variables. A new handheld, a video game store sale, vacation, the peace. Over the hours of dying and respawning, I had a minor epiphany. Why not make a battle pass in my app? I’m sure the traditional video game battle pass won’t work but I can modify it somehow. At the start of this journey, I wanted to dedicate my time to creating an app that focuses on the client instead of the money. Of course, I want to be profitable. However, I also care about advancing technology and the field by helping people become healthier. Most importantly, I want it to be fun and have a sense of achievement. A battle pass could do just that. There are no shortcuts. You want the rewards? Workout and check-in. Everyone can earn them eventually, but some people will earn them much faster. If I can have prizes that are appealing to people then it might work. There are a lot of things to sort out but this could be the start of a really interesting and fun development to my business. I’ll continue to think about it and develop it because I have so much time. But first things first, finish the documentation and learn React Native. Or keep playing games, who knows?
