log 110: coaching
learning
From all the moving around and lack of motivation in the gym I was feeling very uninspired as a coach. I realized that not having a goal to train for has drained the fun out of training for me. For these two weeks back in San Diego, I didn’t want to go back to the gym I was at previously because I wanted to see what other styles of gyms were out there. I searched a bit and found a gym that only employs entrepreneur coaches. I thought that idea was very cool. Provide the space, build a community, collect rent. I walked right in and found myself a coach.I thought this opportunity to be coached by someone else would help me learn a lot about how I would train people moving forward. While I do have my app, I also want to start training people in person again. It was a fun experience and I built some great relationships with clients. Taking only four sessions with a new coach has been a great experience. I learned a lot about a different coach’s style and what kind of methodology he uses, a bunch of different fun and interesting resources to learn about the field, and a lot of new ideas. Not to mention, some tough workouts that pushed me harder than I would have pushed myself. It was a fun and great experience to be coached. I feel as though some of my coaching techniques and ideas have developed, which will help me while I rewrite and revise the workout builders.
There was also an eclipse this week, that was cool.
