log 20: vast
fields
Fields, fields, fields. Wheat, corn, and other crops. These fields are everywhere. It’s been a really cool experience to see how much of our nation is just open land. Incredible to think about how settlers made these huge cities and an extensive network to connect all of them. I wonder what it is going to look like in 50 or even 100 years. Will we still have all this space? Will we even be on the ground anymore? All this time to think about the past and future while driving has me eager to build a future. Where am I going to carve my own path that connects to society? Growing up in the citiest of cities I never got to appreciate the vastness of open land. It feels so large, but yet so small like our progress as a species. So great, yet so minuscule. I hope one day you take this trip for yourself. See what the long road ahead makes you think about yourself and your own goals. It’s only been a couple of days since I left the last remnant of a place I would call home and I feel like I’ve seen so much. But now my desire is to see more. I might be homeless for a while, but thats another sacrifice I have to make to grow. Who would have known a cornfield would put life into perspective for me?
