log 32: grind
progress
Before I continued with the ultimate nerd grind of Diablo 4 I wrote down everything I wanted to complete this week. I did this for two reasons. The first was so that I could have set tasks for what needed to be done during the current week, and the second was so that I could keep playing video games. While some of my tasks were a lower priority or a habit at this point, the more significant task was to plan out the rest of my features. I did this visually by creating new “screens” in my app. Laying it out visually lets me see if I really do need a feature for my MVP. If it is unneeded then I can consider getting rid of it or moving it down in priority. Luckily I didn’t have to get rid of anything because I’m always thinking about how I can keep the design simple and the customer experience seamless. As of now, the main priority is planning and filming more exercise videos to add to my database. Luckily for me, this just takes time. My goal is to have 250 exercises, each with its own video, done by October 1st. Currently, I’m at 96. Thirty videos a week is a pretty solid goal which I will continue with.
While I’m in the process of filming exercises, my coding goal is to have the foundation of my new screens set up. I’m continuing with my old methodology of taking the long way first before I make it more modular. Once, the features all work I can focus on optimization. So looking forward for the month of June here are the things I am going to be focusing on, ordered by priority.
Continue studying for CSCS exam (Aug 15)
Plan and film exercise videos. 30 a week.
Set up foundations for new features, optimize when functional.
Integrate step 2 and 3 so the base of my app is complete
Optimize and refine.
Begin preliminary testing in September/October.
