log 69: challenge

slow

It’s always good to be challenged. It doesn’t always make me feel the best, but I know it is always beneficial. Initially, I thought that I needed to fully send this app and this company. However, a family meeting where my timeline and ideas were challenged changed my entire timeline for the next few years. I will still be developing Kynetik, but not to the extent I wanted. The one thing that I need to focus on is physical therapy school. It is a big piece of my success in the future as a career and from a knowledge standpoint. After I finish my applications, it is up to all the work I have done up till that point. The acceptance is out of my control. So, the second thing I need to work on is my business and marketing skills. I could spend the rest of my gap year grinding away at Kynetik, but with poor business and marketing knowledge, it won't go anywhere. I took two main things away from our family meeting. 1: I have time. 2: I need to prioritize my business and marketing knowledge. Kynetik is my side project and should stay my side project until I am ready to fully develop it. There is no point spending huge amounts of money to rush it into the app store if I’m going to pause development when I am in PT school. There is no point in trying to figure out how to make a new foundation for a software company when I could try to intern at one and learn the foundation. It doesn’t feel great to be challenged when I think my path is clear, but it is so beneficial. I will continue to develop Kynetik as my side project because it is a passion. But for my company and development as a CEO/Leader, I need to focus greatly on learning more about the business and marketing side of things. To accomplish this I am going to look into enrolling in short business courses.
