log 94: recursion

embroidery

In the past year I’ve taken up embroidery as a pastime. I’ve never liked wearing big brands or trendy clothes. I have and will always prefer a simple style. I took up this hobby to give me a break from all the screen time. It’s low effort and pretty fun! Anyways, while I was working on a new project recently I noticed a similar learning pattern, recursion. I wrote about recursion and coding a while back. Being able to try and try again is the best way to learn. While I was working on a new hoodie, I found that working on the sleeve was particularly hard. Every few lengths of string I would try a new way to do it. After a few more lengths, I would try yet again. I would either find a way to make the task easier or harder. It’s fascinating how that is the way humans learn to get better at tasks. Do it again and again. After all, practice makes perfect.
